ESE is the crew on the ground inside these stores. ESE’s brand relationship is held by our facilities management partners.

Utility specialization

Con Edison, end to end.

We are an authorized Con Edison and PSEG electrical firm. Most NYC contractors stitch a vault job together across three companies. ESE designs, expedites, rigs, installs, and as-builds it under one schedule, one PM, one accountable party. The deepest utility capability in the market we serve.

Empire State Electrical Con Edison vault installation
  • 01

    Design

Feasibility, load studies, distribution engineering, vault layout, structural coordination with the GC and the architect. Available as a standalone consulting engagement.

  • 02

    Expediting & utility liaison

We hold the utility relationship from kickoff to cutover. Filings, approvals, customer notifications, inspections.

  • 03

    Rigging & install

Transformer and switchgear rigging by our own crew, not subbed out. Then the civil and electrical scope: switchgear, metering, distribution, duct bank, pulls, terminations, energization.

  • 04

    As-builts

Signed as-built drawings produced in house by the BIM team that designed the vault. Record matches field.

“Most of our market sends ConEd jobs to specialty subs and waits while paperwork bounces between three companies. We hold the whole scope.”

Empire State Electrical service call in progress

Headquartered in Brooklyn, with a project office in Pompano Beach, Florida. Service calls and maintenance run from New York and New Jersey. Major project work extends to South Florida.

New York City

01

Empire State Electrical is rooted in New York City. From our Brooklyn headquarters, we serve all five boroughs including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, as well as Long Island. Over the past decade we’ve completed commercial build-outs in Midtown high-rises, Con Edison vault installations beneath Manhattan streets, property management contracts across Brooklyn and Queens, and NYCHA electrical work in the Bronx.

Our reputation has grown through referrals, and today we’re proud to be one of the go-to electrical contractors for general contractors, property managers, and building owners across the New York City metro area.

New Jersey

02

Our work regularly takes us across the Hudson. We serve commercial and residential clients throughout Northern New Jersey, from Jersey City and Hoboken to Newark and Fort Lee. Whether it’s a tenant fit-out in Hudson County or emergency electrical service in Essex County, our licensed team brings the same reliability and responsiveness that built our reputation in New York.

We are an authorized PSEG firm and we coordinate utility shutdowns, meter pulls, and reconnection ourselves. Our New Jersey crews run service calls, maintenance contracts, and 24/7 emergencies across Hudson, Essex, Bergen, and Union counties, and we cross over for project work across the rest of the state.

Empire State Electrical operates a project office in Pompano Beach, Florida. Florida is project-only: ground-up commercial, mid-rise to high-rise, hospitality, and major build-outs across Miami-Dade and Broward County, from Brickell high-rises to Fort Lauderdale Beach developments.

Service calls, maintenance contracts, and same-day or emergency electrical work are handled exclusively by our New York and New Jersey crews. In Florida we focus on the project side, with the same licensed expertise and project management discipline that drives our New York operations.

Meet the team

A note from our founder.

“We grew this company from a single apprentice's tool belt into a team of 100+ electricians across three states. The bar never changed: do the job right, be where you said you'd be, and stand behind the work.”

Lawrence RafalovichFounder & President · Since 2014

· Lawrence Rafalovich, Founder

Empire State Electrical was founded in 2014 after nearly a decade of hands-on field work and a turn as Director of Safety and Health at the MTA. What started as small renovations and service calls in Brooklyn grew into a full-service firm of over 100 tradespeople and 28 management staff delivering projects across New York, New Jersey, and South Florida. We still answer the phone ourselves, and we still show up when we said we would.

The people who answer the phone, estimate the work, manage the field, and close the loop.
