Overview

Low voltage and fire alarm is its own discipline inside electrical. The cabling is different, the design rules are different, and the inspection authorities are different. We carry an in-house team for it because the alternative is to bid the work to an outside specialty contractor and lose control of the schedule and the integration.

Our scope covers fire alarm, smoke control, emergency lighting and exit signage, security and CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and the data and telecom backbone for commercial and residential buildings. We engineer it, install it, certify it, and stand behind it. When the building has both electrical and low-voltage scope from us, the integration cost is in our number, not buried in a change order from a sub-sub.

Most fire alarm projects are owned by either the property manager (for service and certification) or the GC (for new construction). We work both sides of that. For service and certification, we run alongside the electrical service contracts. For new construction, we coordinate with the GC, the architect, and the AHJ from pre-construction through commissioning.

Planning your enquiry

What to share with our team.

Send what you have available. These details help us understand the site, define the scope, and identify the next step.

Service calls and maintenance cover New York and New Jersey. South Florida enquiries are for project work.

  • Describe the systems needed: fire alarm, data cabling, access control, cameras, intercom, or a coordinated package.

  • Share current drawings, device schedules, equipment specifications, and owner or IT standards.

  • Identify existing equipment that must remain and any required coordination with the building's system vendors or monitoring provider.

  • Clarify who provides pathways, power, equipment, programming, testing, and closeout documents so the package boundaries can be priced accurately.

How it goes

Four steps. No surprises.

Every low voltage and fire alarm engagement runs the same way. We document the work, we document the cost, and we leave a clean record so you can pick up the file at any point and know what is happening.

  1. Step 01Design

For new work, our in-house designers spec the system based on the architect's plans, the AHJ requirements, and the owner preferences. For service work, we walk the existing system and document what is there.

    01
  2. Step 02Engineer the package

We document the cabling, the head-end equipment, the panel locations, and the integration points. The package goes for permit and approval.

    02
  3. Step 03Install and certify

Field crew runs cabling, terminates devices, programs the panels, and walks the system end to end. We coordinate the certification with the AHJ.

    03
  4. Step 04Service

Annual recertification, troubleshooting, expansions, and upgrades. Most clients keep us on a service contract so the building has one party responsible for the system over its life.

Common questions

Asked and answered.

  • 01

Are you a fire alarm certified firm?

Yes. We carry the appropriate fire alarm certifications for the jurisdictions we work in, including NYC and South Florida. Our designers and field leads carry individual certifications as well.

  • 02

Can you take over service on a fire alarm system you did not install?

Yes. We document the existing system on the first visit, order any specialty parts, and quote a service contract from there. We can also recommend upgrades if the existing equipment is reaching end of life.

  • 03

Do you integrate with building management systems?

Yes. For commercial and institutional buildings, we coordinate the low voltage scope with the BMS so that fire alarm, access, and lighting integrate cleanly with mechanical and HVAC.
