Electrical Repairs and Emergency Service in NYC and NJ
Same-day diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades for outlets, switches, fixtures, panels, and the surprise problems that need a real electrician now.
A service call is the small thing that has to be made right today. A breaker that will not reset. A burning smell behind a panel. A row of outlets that died for no reason. The work is rarely scheduled and almost never simple, and every minute the lights are off costs the customer something.
Empire State Electrical runs a dedicated service line so a licensed electrician can be on site the same day for most issues, twenty four hours a day for emergencies. Our service crew is on call across New York City, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey. We pick up the phone ourselves and we send a real electrician with a real truck. Not a sales rep. Not a screening dispatcher with a quote form. (Florida is project-only; service and maintenance are not handled out of our Florida office.)
Service calls are the core of our service department. Three thousand five hundred calls a year, every kind of building, every kind of problem. Whether you are a homeowner who lost half a kitchen, a property manager looking at a violation letter, or a building engineer staring at a panel that has been clicking for two days, we can be the call.

What to share with our team.
Send what you have available. These details help us understand the site, define the scope, and identify the next step.
Service calls and maintenance cover New York and New Jersey. South Florida enquiries are for project work.
Tell us the property address, affected rooms or equipment, and whether the problem is ongoing or intermittent.
Describe what stopped working, when it started, and any recent equipment or electrical changes.
Let us know the building access arrangements and who can authorize the work. Share existing photos only if they can be taken safely without opening electrical equipment.
For urgent service, call rather than wait for an online enquiry response. Describe any immediate safety concern to the dispatcher.
Four steps. No surprises.
Every service calls engagement runs the same way. We document the work, we document the cost, and we leave a clean record so you can pick up the file at any point and know what is happening.
- Step 01You call
Day or night. Our line answers within three rings. Tell us what happened and where you are. We confirm if it is an emergency and assign a crew.
01 - Step 02We dispatch
An electrician on call in your area gets the assignment with the address, the symptoms, and any access notes. They roll with a stocked van so common parts are on the truck.
02 - Step 03We diagnose
On site, we open the right panels, isolate the issue, and explain what we are seeing in plain English. If it is small, we fix it on the spot. If it is bigger, we make it safe and quote the rest before we leave.
03 - Step 04We close out
Power restored, panel labeled, work documented. If the building needs a follow-up filing or inspection, we coordinate it from our office so you do not have to chase paperwork.

Asked and answered.
- 01
Do you charge a service fee just to come out?
We charge a flat diagnostic fee that covers the truck roll and the first thirty minutes of work. If we end up doing the repair the same visit, the diagnostic fee applies to the repair cost. We will tell you the fee before we dispatch.
- 02
What is your emergency response time?
For true emergencies inside our coverage area, we target a one to two hour arrival, day or night. Coverage area includes all five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey. We do not run emergency or service calls in Florida; the Florida office is project-only.
- 03
Are your electricians licensed and insured?
Every electrician on a service truck is licensed in the state they work in. ESE is bonded and carries general liability and workers compensation insurance. We will provide certificates of insurance for any building that needs them.
- 04
Can you handle Con Edison or PSEG service work?
Yes. We are an authorized Con Edison and PSEG firm and we coordinate utility shutdowns, meter pulls, and reconnection ourselves. If your service call involves the utility, we handle that handoff.
